Grape : Nerello Mascalese 100%


Piripicchio 2018 comes from the assembly of grapes grown as saplings and espaliers at an altitude between about 650 and 750 meters, on the northern slope of Etna; the management of the vineyards is in full respect of the environment with an average age of the vineyards of about 60 years cultivated on volcanic soil particularly rich in microelements and minerals. In 2018 Piripicchio is the result of the assembly of grapes from the districts Calderara Sottana (50%), Feudo Pignatone (30%) and San Lorenzo (20%)

Aging: the wine ages for about 12 months in French oak barriques of various passages during which the malolactic fermentation takes place in a natural way and undergoes a racking in order to clarify the wine and make it stable. Piripicchio 2018 is a wine not subjected to clarification, stabilization and filtration, the aim is to keep the organoleptic properties of the starting grapes intact and guarantee the maximum territorial and vintage expression.
