This 100% Nerello Mascalese from Masseria Setteporte respect traditions and culture, thanks to the high altitude vineyards (800mt) located on the South-East side of Mount Etna, with lots of mineral, thvolcanic soil of the Biancavilla area. Harvest time around mid-late October.
Fermentation starts in stainless steel tanks with skin contact for about 8 days and 3 times a days of pumping over. Malolactic fermentation takes place in French barriques, 20 % of which are new oak. 12 months in French barriques, followed by 8 months into the bottle.
